When The Gods Were Half Human is at once raw and mythopoetic, inhabiting the liminal spaces where gods bleed, humans steal fire, and the divine forgets its distance—always returning in reverence to the beauty found in the breaking. It is a meditation on pain, love, and personal transformation that delves—poignant and irreverent—into questions of being and transcendence that blur the line between sacred and mundane. Viscerally poetic and as personal as it is universal, these poems represent an invitation to feel our humanity more deeply, to remember our innocence, to reclaim our pain, and to find the divine pulse in our human fracture.

PRACTICAL: How Much To Give?

The suggested market value is for this book is $16 (softcover) and $25 (hardcover). After the cost of printing and shipping, these amounts leave roughly $10 in support for the author.

If you have plenty, I welcome you to give generously — it supports me and helps cover those who can’t give as much. If you have little, give what feels right. I’ve been there too, and I’m happy to pay it forward. If you can’t contribute right now, that’s okay — truly.

PHILOSOPHICAL: Why Gift Economy?

Letting you decide the value of this book is an act of trust. I’m not just selling a product — I’m inviting a relationship.

In our culture we have largely depersonalized the act of exchange and forgotten that money is only a metaphor for the resources that are real to the animal body: food, shelter, warmth, touch, time. I wish to reanimate the relational over the transactional — to remember that giving and receiving are the heartbeat of our humanity, the pulse of all true intimacy.

Art, to me, is communion. It reminds us we belong to one another — that creation and appreciation are two halves of the same breath.

In offering this book by donation, I’m choosing the vulnerability of uncertainty, that I might not get for my work a return of energy equal to that invested within it. But the risk of that uncertainty is what makes relationship possible. You are not a consumer here, you are a patron...you are a participant.

When you read my words, my life becomes part of yours. When you give, you become part of the art — and part of artist.

Blessings.
